Enrolment process for new families

Families wishing to enrol their child/children at Ashwood Memorial Kindergarten (for the current or future years) should first complete a Kindergarten Central Registration Form.

Information about offers for families already on waiting lists

Offers

  • Offers will come from Monash Council
  • Offers at all kindergartens are allocated to the Monash Criteria for Allocation of First Round Offers (see details below).
  • The first round of offers will be sent in August and will be sent via email. 4YO places are offered first, followed by 3YO places a few days later.
  • Families will have 2 weeks from the date of offer to take up their place. Further offers will then be made until all places are filled or there are no more families on the AMK waiting list.

Enrolment

  • Families who accept a first round offer will be contacted by Monash Council to nominate their preferred group/days if applicable and complete an enrolment form.
  • Group allocations will be made on a first-in first-served basis and are subject to approval.
  • Families who have secured a place, will be contacted by Y Ballarat to confirm group, classes and session times in September/October.

Monash criteria for allocation of first round offers

The following criteria are used for determining the order in which offers are made:

3 Year Old

  • Monash resident or ratepayer
  • Children who qualify for Priority Placement (see details)
  • Children repeating 3YO
  • Siblings (up to 3 years)
  • Proximity to kinder

4 Years Old

  • Monash resident or ratepayer
  • Children who qualify for Priority Placement (see details)
  • Children who attended 3YO
  • Siblings (up to 3 years)
  • Proximity to kinder

Kindergarten Tours & Open Day

The kindergarten open night is Wednesday 18 March 5:30-7:30pm. This is a great opportunity for new and existing families to come along and see what happens at kinder, meet and talk to the teachers and other parents and see what a fantastic environment AMK provides.
